All My Life For Sale

I once sold everything I owned on eBay to explore how identity is shaped by the objects and brands we buy. No really, it’s true.
Now Reed is repeating the experiment at AllMyLifeForSale.net.

You can check out John Freyer’s original version of the project at AllMyLifeForSale.com.

Is there a formula for good ads?

Accounting firm Marks Paneth & Shron is torturing me with math problems on my commute.

If this is your idea of fun (or you’re just smarter than me,) you can play along at markspaneth.com (I wonder if Shron is pissed his name got left off the url?) The answers lead into little addy facts about the firm like “With 3 locations in the NYC Metro area… we’re easily accessible.”

And don't miss copyranter’s take on another ad in the campaign at Animal New York.

Who’s obeying who?

I’ve heard several people admire these posters around the city and wonder who's behind them.

A google search for HEEL Chihuahua turns up a sponsored link for heel.la with a “we will not be fashion accessories” manifesto on YouTube that's racked up 466,725 views.
I also found this post which explains it’s all a teaser campaign for an upcoming Disney movie called Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
The campaign borrows heavily from Obey The Purebreed...

...which borrows heavily from Shepard Fairey, who borrows heavily from all over. In any case, it’s better than the actual movie poster:

Nice to see that movie marketing keeps experimenting.

But what if you can't afford it?

I’m not crazy about the brownie line. But "Shop like you deserve it" is a great tagline for them to use during an economic downturn because you can interpret "it" as healthier options or the quality of their in-store experience.

Listen to the hits or Get rid of zits

I've seen these giant iPod vending machines before:

But not even Jessica Simpson could convince me to buy Proactiv acne treatment at the airport.

Happy Mothers Day

Instead of your name in lights, how about your tagline in real roses?

Nice display in Grand Central.

Are you worried about identity theft?

But can't afford one of those fancy shedders?
Too lazy or infirm to tear paper by hand?
Then here’s the ad for you:

How many razor blades do you need?

This Gillette Mach 3 ad is attracting its fair share of graffiti.

"Just say no."

Yes, that's a real band-aid stuck to the ad. Guess someone is sick of cutting themselves while shaving.

"Enough blades already."

Do you smell something?

This gas pun caused some minor pain at the pump.

Just a quick pic from my trip. Busy playing catch up at work.
