Was the jukebox the original social media device?

I was at the mall over the weekend and saw this in the food court.

You text a code to control what music video plays on the TVs bolted everywhere.

Akoo bills itself as "the world's largest social music television network."

But why did they use a cassette tape as a graphic? Do kids at the mall today even know what a cassette is?

    I think it adds a retro flare. The design awesome. If for nothing else, it may spark ideas to updating the cassette. Like a cassette mp3-4 player.
