Was the jukebox the original social media device?

I was at the mall over the weekend and saw this in the food court.

You text a code to control what music video plays on the TVs bolted everywhere.

Akoo bills itself as "the world's largest social music television network."

But why did they use a cassette tape as a graphic? Do kids at the mall today even know what a cassette is?

HSBC has moved away from their ”different values” campaign in favor of a headline driven one.


Their old values campaign had a lot of momentum, but these do a great job paying off their “the world’s local bank” tagline.

4Food wants to de-junk fast food and they're seamlessly using twitter and facebook to spread the message.

The Wall Street Journal has a nice article on how they plan on using iPads and social media in-store.

Even the signage on their construction site has a social element.

If a picture is worth 1000 words, how many headlines does it take to sell a camera?






(Maybe I should start carrying a camera around, my iPhone shooting skills seem to be lacking lately.)


Straightforward tactic, but when I did search lumix online, I didn't see any connection to the campaign in the results.
