I'm headed to Austin for a week, but will try to post from the road.

I finished my taxes, did you?
It took me until the wee hours to do my taxes by hand last night. Accounting for all of last year’s freelance work was a pain and my desk looked like this visual solution.
"Is running your business getting the way of running your business?"
Next year, I’m just hiring a CPA. But procrastinating did lead to a celebrity sighting. On the way to the Old Chelsea Post Office to mail my taxes, I saw Rachel Dratch of SNL fame fresh from a workout, carrying a yoga mat.

Wanna get rocky mountain high?
Madison Square Park was taken over by Colorado today for a tourism promotion.
They also have a “Brand Gallery” on 42nd (whatever that is.)
You can read more about the effort on their site.

What does this mean?
I've been trying to figure out this poster for the past few days.
Is it a teaser campaign? Song lyrics? Art?
UPDATE: I still don’t get it, but this ad seems to be from The New Museum of Contemporary Art for a Paul Chan exhibition.

Supporting or appropriating art? Does it make a difference?
This great type treatment for DieselWall.com brightened my rainy commute this morning.
Having artists submit their work for a chance to see it painted on the side of building is pretty cool.
My only quibble is that the project’s manifesto includes a diatribe against advertising in favor of artist expression. Which is right on the money, except that they’re selling jeans. But usurping counterculture and rebellion is such old hat that I doubt it will ruffle many feathers.
I’ll definitely head down to 220 W. 19th Street on June 20th to check out the winner.

If you work for yourself, who keeps track of your sick days?
If you suddenly find yourself thinking about health insurance, congratulations - you either just became a responsible adult or unemployed. Either way, the Freelancers Union can help.

Is there anything Google can’t do?
Google has introduced Gmail Custom Time to allow users to send emails in an alternative chronological stream.
This handy app guarantees you'll never miss another client deadline.
You might even be tempted to email yourself three weeks ago to sell your Bear Stearns shares.
Unfortunately, the ability to send emails into the past just the latest in a long line of Google’s April Fool’s Day pranks.
